Citibank Korea and its sister firm Citigroup Global Markets Korea won six awards in the Korean market from a leading financial magazine in recognition of their endeavor in sustainable finance, the Korean unit of US banking giant Citigroup said Thursday.

At the Asset magazine’s 2024 Triple A Awards, Citibank Korea won “Best Bank for Sustainable Finance” in recognition of its solid growth in the corporate financial business sector, which includes providing differentiated and customized financial solutions to corporate clients while actively supporting their global businesses and the new economy sector.

The lender also clinched the “Best Commercial Bank” for diversifying its revenue streams by realigning its revenue model and focusing on the small and medium-sized enterprises banking sector.

"This achievement was made possible owing to our team who embraced the challenges without fear and awakened even in a changing environment and demonstrated the leadership of 'me first, and us together' to play our parts. Citibank Korea will continue to do its best to position itself as a bank that clients can trust,” Citibank Korea CEO Yoo Myung-soon said on receiving the award.

Citigroup Global Markets Korea also swept the major investment banking sector, including “Best Corporate and Institutional Adviser” and “Best Equity, Best Bond, and Best M&A Adviser” in recognition of its management performance in major M&As and stock/bond issuance.

“Citi has proven leadership across all areas of investment banking including M&A, Equity and Bonds, based on trust and confidence from our valued clients built through years of close collaborations,” said Park Jang-ho, CEO and Managing Director of Citigroup Global Markets Korea.
