The Korea Herald and iStaging inked a memorandum of understanding to foster a cooperative relationship in the realm of new media, particularly leveraging virtual reality technology.
iStaging is a Taiwanese company that specializes in virtual reality solutions. The company has developed virtual reality content for over 100,000 global companies, including LVMH, YSL, Toyota, ASUS and Mercedes-Benz.
Virtual reality content created by iStaging includes virtual showrooms, virtual exhibitions, virtual tradeshows and virtual tours. These contents are also slated to be featured on Apple's virtual reality headset, Vision Pro.
The memorandum of understanding was signed on Monday at The Korea Herald's central Seoul headquarters, with The Korea Herald CEO Choi Jin-young, iStaging CEO Johnny Lee and other company officials in attendance.
Under the agreement, iStaging Asia, the tech company's Asian branch, will contribute its technological expertise while The Korea Herald will provide its media content expertise to enhance iStaging's virtual reality offerings.
“In the future, people will wear their personal VR devices upon waking in the morning, immersing themselves into a sea of information including news content,” Lee said describing his vision for how news content will be consumed in the future.
“iStaging aspires to not only lead the marketplace of, but also play a pivotal role in shaping the ecosystem of the spatial web industry.”
Choi echoed sentiments, pledging “The Korea Herald will fully cooperate to provide high-quality content to synergize effectively with iStaging.”
Established in 2015, iStaging has offices in the US, France, South Korea, and China, in addition to its Taiwan headquarters.
