SK Telecom on May 29 said that the company would develop an AI-based post production platform to help local firms to export cultural products abroad.
The South Korean telecommunications firm said it recently signed a memorandum of understanding with local post production firm New ID to collaborate on the project.
“The latest signing came to meet increased foreign demand for Korea‘s cultural productions,” the company said. “The two companies expect the new platform could reduce the time and cost by automatizing post production process,” it added.
SK Telecom‘s AI-based post production platform will be able to automatically detect images, audio files and subtitles that need to be ridden of before exporting to the nations using different languages. The AI-based platform will too locate and delete contents that can potentially infringe intellectual property, the company added.
According to SK Telecom, the post production platform will also feature a video scaler that can improve video quality.
The automated platform can be used in live streaming and sports broadcasting too. The platform, for instance, can translate the scoreboard in real time, according to the company.
