[THE INVESTOR] Samsung Electronics said on Nov. 6 it will make a full-fledged effort to penetrate deeper into the business-to-business washer industry and release products optimized for corporate clients.
The Korean tech giant said the decision comes as the local market for commercial washers is expected to grow 50 percent annually down the road.
The business-to-business washers refer to products sold to clients, such as coin laundromats, hotels, resorts, dormitories, hospitals and military facilities.
In line with the move, Samsung introduced its first washer designed for business clients, which comes with a 17-kilogram capacity and is capable of finishing a load of laundry in 38 minutes. The 11-kilogram dryer, which can be installed together with the washer, can complete the process in 45 minutes.
Samsung said its business products can be installed with coin machines that can also accept payments by credit cards or its mobile payment tool, Samsung Pay.
The company will provide comprehensive service for buyers of business washers, including installation and maintenance.
Samsung added it plans to join forces with not only laundry facilities but also with cafes and convenience stores to generate new demand.
