[THE INVESTOR] Hyundai Motor on Sept. 6 launched the facelifted Avante compact in the domestic market to help bolster sales.
“To present new standards in the compact car segment, the upgraded Avante comes with changes in front-and rear sides such as triangular headlamps, and advanced safety features like the rear cross-traffic collision warning and safe exit assist systems,” Hyundai said in a statement.
The carmaker said that the 2019 Avante has revised center-stack controls that can offer better user experience. The local version of the car is powered by a 1.6-liter gasoline, a 1.6-liter diesel or a 1.6-liter liquefied petroleum injection engine. The 1.6 gasoline model is available with a manual transmission or an intelligent variable transmission engine. The 1.6 diesel version is equipped with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. The 1.6 LPi is mated to a six-speed automatic torque converter, the statement said.
The Avante mated with a 1.6 gasoline turbo and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission will be launched in November, it said.
The price of the best-selling compact car will start at 14 million won (US$12,000) and go up to 24 million won depending on options.
