[THE INVESTOR] Korean tech giant Samsung Electronics has been picked as the best company in terms of business performance among the country’s top 500 business concerns, a market tracker said on May 23.
According to CEO Score, Samsung received 712.9 points out of the full 800 in a business evaluation that covered eight categories, including global competitiveness, job creation and social contributions.
Last year, Samsung ranked second, beaten by Naver, Korea’s largest internet portal operator.
Samsung was the top performer in terms of global competitiveness and received strong evaluation in other areas, such as investment, high growth and job creation.
Leading automaker Hyundai Motor came in second with 604 points, followed by Naver with 583.4 points.
Other companies in the top 10 were crude refiner S-Oil, flat panel giant LG Display, chip behemoth SK hynix and leading auto parts maker Hyundai Mobis.
