[THE INVESTOR] Korea’s top automaker Hyundai Motor said on Nov. 29 that its plant in the Czech Republic received a national award for quality.
Hyundai Motor Manufacturing Czech, which is located in Nosovice, received the rank of “excellence,” the highest rank, from the Czech Republic government.
The Czech Republic’s national award for quality is the most important domestic appreciation of the quality of a production process in its all stages.
Hyundai completed its factory in the Czech Republic in September 2009 in a bid to make further inroads into the European market. Mass production began about one year before construction of the factory was completed.
The plant has an annual production capacity of 330,000 units and churns out i30 compacts and Tucson ix sport utility vehicles, the company said.
