[THE INVESTOR] Hyundai Motor stated on Nov. 16 that it plans to release eight new cross utility vehicles in the North American market.
The eight models include a variety of sub-models ranging from compact cars called the A-segment. The first car to be launched will be a new version of the subcompact SUV Kona, which was first introduced in 2017. Hyundai is expected to begin sales of Kona in March 2018.

The A-segment will encompass vehicles which run on four different fuels -- gasoline, diesel, electric, and hydrogen fuel cell. All the models are expected to be revealed at the International Motor Show in Detroit, New York and Los Angeles.
“Hyundai will soon have the most diverse CUV lineup in the North American market. We aim to be the only carmaker to offer consumers CUVs running on four different fuels,” said a Hyundai Motor official.
