[THE INVESTOR] Renault Samsung Motors, the local unit of French Renault Group, saw its September sales nearly double on the back of stellar overseas shipments, the company said on Oct. 2.
The carmaker sold 26,182 cars last month, up 93.1 percent from 13,557 units tallied a year ago, according to Renault Samsung.
Exports shot up more than fourfold to a record 18,820 cars in September from a year earlier, while domestic sales decreased 20.2 percent on-year to 7,362 units.
For the first nine months of the year, the company sold 204,840 vehicles, up 19.6 percent from the same period last year.
