Samsung Electronics said April 25 it has topped the market for home electronics in the US in the first three months of the year.
Citing data compiled by industry tracker Traqline, the Korean tech giant said it accounted for 19.2 percent of the US market in terms of sales, up 4.5 percentage points from a year earlier.
Samsung first emerged as the No. 1 player in the US market for home electronics in the second quarter of 2016 with a market share of 16.7 percent.
The firm accounted for 19.7 percent of the US market for washing machines, and also posted a share of 23 percent for refrigerators.
