[THE INVESTOR] Samsung Group employees were evacuated from its headquarters in southern Seoul on April 14 after receiving a report of explosives in one of the three buildings.
An anonymous caller gave the warning at 11:46 a.m., and Samsung said that it immediately issued an evacuation alert to its employees.
The caller said that explosives were planted in Building A of the complex, which is used as the head office of Samsung Life Insurance. A spokesperson said the building was shut down while police and firefighters were conducting a thorough search.
No explosives were found after the two-hour long search, the police said.
Samsung Electronics recently moved its head office to Taepyeong-ro in central Seoul, while Samsung Group’s financial and insurance businesses, including Samsung Life Insurance and Samsung Fire & Marine Insurance, remain at headquarters.
