[THE INVESTOR] Samsung Electronics is expected to unveil its new health tracker Gear Fit Pro at the upcoming Mobile World Congress trade show that kicks off in Barcelona on Feb. 27, along with its new tablet PC, the Galaxy Tab S3.
The Korean tech giant has filed a trademark for the wearable device at patent offices in Korea and Europe -- usual move before unveiling new products.

No details of the hardware specifications for the new Fit are available yet, but the wearable device will likely be compatible with both the Android smartphones and iPhones like other Samsung smartwatches and bands, such as Gear S3.
Since 2014, Samsung has been trying to build a health care platform, dubbed Simband, by gathering health data through mobile and wearable devices.
The Korean tech giant is also anticipated to take the wraps off its new tablet PC Galaxy Tab S at an event to be held a day before the beginning of the tech fair in Barcelona.
