THE INVESTOR] Renault Samsung Motors on Nov. 1 said its sales soared more than 40 percent from a year earlier in October with both domestic sales and exports growing at record rates.
Domestic sales spiked 89 percent on-year to 13,254 vehicles last month, the highest figure since June 2010, the company said in a press release.
Exports jumped 13.9 percent to 14,714 cars, marking a turnaround from a 72.1 percent on-year plunge in the previous month.
The company’s overall sales jumped 40.3 percent to 27,968 cars, the second highest monthly tally in the company’s history.
In the January-October period, the carmaker sold 199,179 cars globally, up 9 percent from the same period last year.
Domestic sales jumped 32.4 percent on-year to 84,458 cars over the cited period, while outbound shipments slipped 3.5 percent to 114,721 units.
