Born in 1968, Cho Hyun-joon is the eldest son of Hyosung Group chairman Cho Suck-rae. The younger Cho currently serves as the chief of Hyosung Group’s strategy and planning division, and information and communication technology related businesses.
In 1991, he graduated from University of Yale with a degree in politics, and went on to Japan’s Keio University to receive a master’s degree in the same subject.
In 1992 he joined Mitsubishi Corp., where he worked in energy, and crude oil related departments. In 1995 he moved to Morgan Stanley’s Tokyo office, and then to Hyosung in 1997.
Cho is reported to be fluent in English and Japanese, and speaks Italian, and has shown interest in a wide range of businesses including games, and sports.
