Born in 1953, Suh Eun-sook is the daughter of Suh Sung-whan, former chairman and founder of Amorepacific.
The history of the Seoul-based cosmetics-maker began when Yun Dok-jeong, the founder’s mother, begun to produce and distribute camellia oil in 1932 as a hair conditioner for women.
Founded in 1945, Amorepacific has been leading the cosmetic industry by adopting a door-to-door sales strategy for the first time in the country.
She has two brothers, chairman of Pacific Engineering & Construction chairman Young-bai and Amorepacific Group chairman Kyung-bae, and three sisters.
She married Choi Sang-yong, a professor at Korea University's medical school, and son of lawmaker Choi Du-go.
