BIOGRAPHY
Born in 1958, Pharma Research Products chairman Jung Sang-soo went to Gangneung High School in Gangwon Province and earned his bachelor’s degree in pharmacy at Seoul’s Chung-Ang University.
Upon graduation, he worked at Daewoong Pharmaceutical as the R&D manager until he founded bio-pharmaceutical company Pharma Research Products.
The company, which is headquartered in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, focuses on regenerative medicine and anti-aging products. It has secured patents on the technology for obtaining polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN) from salmon, as a treatment for skin regeneration.
The company went public on the KOSDAQ in July 2015.
As of May 2016, Jung holds 41.1 percent of Pharma Research Products shares, making him the single largest shareholder, with his stakes being valued at 229.2 billion won ($196 million).
